QC Holdings is committed to making financial education accessible in the communities where our employees and customers live and work. Our goal is to empower consumers to manage their finances more effectively and to better prepare for personal emergencies that could lead to financial disaster. We work closely with community groups to deliver customized financial education programs and provide resources to enable them to accomplish their financial education objectives
We offer financial education workshops tailored to the specific needs of partner organizations. The workshops are based on two highly regarded programs – FDIC’s “Money Smart” and Visa’s “Practical Money Skills for Life” – and
provide participants with the tools to improve their personal finances. We
develop workshops that are appropriate for diverse audiences ranging from kindergarten
to working adults. The sessions are delivered by certified QC trainers and
last 1–2 hours. Our certified trainers have facilitated workshops at local, state and national conferences, including the National School-Based Mentoring and Volunteerism Conference and the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus Foundation’s annual Midwestern Conference.
We encourage our employees to give back to their communities. Many of them volunteer their time and resources to organizations that provide financial education. QC employees are proud supporters of Junior Achievement, Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City.
We provide grant support to nonprofits that promote financial education and literacy. If your organization has an existing financial education program or intends to launch a program in the near future, you may be eligible to apply for a grant. QC has awarded grants to nonprofits to help eliminate barriers to providing financial education in their local communities. To learn more about the application process, please contact the QC Holdings Community Relations Department at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We provide valuable financial education resources nationwide to all QC Holdings Companies branches and as resource to community organizations. Our goal is to reach individuals and families who may have a need for budgeting-related information, but may not necessarily participate in a financial education workshop. Our Budgeting 101 series of brochures helps to accomplish this.
Budgeting 101 consists of three pamphlets that focus on the three components of building a budget, including:
